About Us
What is the New Jersey Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and who are its members?
NJAMTE and its members work together to promote and improve the education of pre-service and in-service teachers of mathematics across the state of New Jersey.
NJAMTE members include teacher educators in Schools and Colleges of Education and Departments of Mathematics as well as others interested in mathematics teacher education.
What is the goal of NJAMTE?
The goal of NJAMTE is to promote quality mathematics teacher education in New Jersey. Specifically, the purposes are to:
Facilitate communication and collaboration among mathematics teacher educators and consultants at the elementary, secondary, community college, college, and university levels.
Promote quality undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics education for prospective teachers in the state of New Jersey.
Promote quality programs for the professional development of teachers of mathematics at all levels.
